We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization recognized by the IRS, dedicated to Inspiring and Empowering youth by providing guidance, mentorship, resources and transformative experiences through college and university tours, military installation visits, recruiting office engagements, and youth retreats to help them navigate life's challenges and achieve their fullest potential. We aim to broaden horizons, foster personal growth, and encourage informed decision-making, helping young individuals discover their potential, set ambitious goals, and explore diverse pathways to success through mentorship, exposure, and community. We are committed to nurturing the leaders of tomorrow.
We founded A-One Support and Mentorship from a deep love for children and a commitment to helping shape the future leaders of tomorrow. Our heart is committed to seeing young individuals reach their full potential and achieve their dreams; as we believe every young individual has the potential to succeed, and we want to ensure that no one’s path to success is hindered by lack of opportunity, resources, or support. As a child, both my husband and I grew up in households that society often labels as "single parent." I was the eldest of three siblings and faced financial constraints that limited my access to career-focused opportunities. My husband, the youngest of two, experienced an even more tumultuous upbringing, moving in and out of foster homes. Like me, he also faced financial hardships. Neither of us had the benefit of mentorship or career guidance, and we applied to colleges simply because it was expected of us, without fully understanding the significance of the decision or how to navigate the process. I eventually joined the Army, a decision that stemmed from a conversation with my JROTC instructor, Colonel Manning, who introduced me to the idea as a viable option. At the time, it felt like my only path forward, however, it turned out to be a transformative experience, one that opened many doors for me. Little did I know, it was just one of many possibilities. I’m grateful for the experience, the opportunities, and growth it has provided me, I want to pass this knowledge on to others, especially young people who face similar challenges. I earned my Bachelor of Business Administration-Accounting degree from South University, which has equipped me with the tools and skills to guide and mentor effectively. After exploring various career paths, my husband discovered his true passion in providing professional barbering and grooming services to the community. This passion led him to establish our family-owned barbershop, which has now been serving the community for 20 years Now, through A-One Support & Mentorship, we are committed to ensuring that our next generation, particularly those who might not have the resources to fully explore their options, are aware of the vast opportunities available to them. Our Mission is to empower these future leaders with the support, guidance, and mentorship they need to achieve their dreams.
